DBI - Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology has worked intensively with fire simulation for more than twenty years. In many situations, a fire assessment based on a fire simulation would be useful. This is often valid in performance-based cases in which the result of the fire simulation is used to demonstrate a building’s level of safety, to ensure that the requirements of the law have been adhered to. Yet simulations can also be used to optimise specific building features.
In complex buildings, a two-zone calculation program (Argos®) or multi-zone models (CFD models) are used. Argos® was developed by DBI and is continuously maintained and updated. Argos® licences are sold to research institutions, consulting engineering firms and others. Click on this link to learn more about Argos®.
