DBI’s team of technicians are specially trained to investigate the causes of fire and a range of other types of incidents. As they are often able to explain how and why the incident has occurred, their investigations can be used to prevent repetitions of the same or similar occurrences.

Discovering why and how damage occurred is particularly important in determining insurance and product liability. DBI’s investigations are impartial and regarded as expert opinion in legal contexts. We have more than twenty five years of experience in this field and investigate around seven hundred cases a year. The knowledge we acquire from fire investigations is integrated into the fire prevention work carried out by DBI, public authorities and other enterprises.
